Whats the best value for money camera tripod?
I have just taken up photography and been advised to get myself a tripod. What is the best value tripod to buy and why ?
Buy quality - buy once applies to tripods. Any Manfrotto or Gitzo.
A cheap tripod is a pain to use as you frame your shot and the camera droops, so you frame again and so on, and on..., with a quality one you frame your shot, lock the ball head and it stays exactly where you put it even with a heavy camera and telephoto lens.
I'm still using a Manfrotto tripod I bought 40 years ago, there are paint chips all over it, but it still works perfectly.
